Letter from the CEO – 2025
Dear Industry Leaders,
Happy Day! I hope this letter finds everyone having an awesome start to 2025. At Scope Technologies, we have never been more excited and grateful for our customers' loyalty and business, and, of course, for our employees' consistent and conscientious hard work.
Since 2011, Scope's mission has been to be the roofer's best technology friend. Even before its introduction and early adoption by contractors, Scope has been on the vanguard of producing accurate and timely aerial measurement reports, developing the trust of contractors—a requirement for them to use this time-saving technology for decision-making, prospecting, sales, and operational excellence.
We have seen others in our vertical come and go (it's not a simple endeavor, and well-founded intellectual property rights protect the discipline); even now, new companies arise as construction technologies change and advance. We couldn't be more excited and proud to be at the forefront of this changing industry.
We continue to make significant investments in our technologies to support our customers' growth, and Scope continues to provide the best measurement data in the industry. Our core mission hasn't changed: saving contractors time and money by offering the best measurement reports. We have always put our clients first and try to be a reliable extension of their team: whether that be the direct line our customers use to contact their dedicated account manager, or our customer experience team to answer questions or resolve problems, or our quality assurance team that routinely inspects reports and, if needed, to recalibrate a measurement report to make it just right for our customer's first-call close.
We remember years ago when we had a targeted delivery time for a measurement report (within 48 hours) to attract more clients. Well, we missed that target multiple times. Because demand was phenomenal, when we were super overloaded, it would take three to four days. Thank God for loyal customers who have stuck with us through those growing pains. Today, we deliver our flagship RoofScope report in under three hours at mass scale and do the same for most of our other residential and blueprint reports. We provide our commercial reports in under 24 hours, but we always want to ensure that our clients receive the best data within the industry. So, we will never sacrifice our rigorous quality control process.
When we launched our SaaS estimating tool, ProDocs, our vision was to provide a solution that precisely streamlined quoting and material takeoff workflows. Having the best measurement data was the prerequisite; using our data, we endeavored to create the easiest-to-use SaaS estimating tool in the industry. So, now, it's valuable and functional. But behind the scenes, ProDocs is still keeping our engineers busy. We are turning ProDocs into an easier-to-use, intuitive, and powerful SaaS field service tool so our customers can create accurate quotes with only a few keystrokes. And their operations team can create material purchase orders in seconds. We expect to introduce the enhanced ProDocs soon.
We have produced millions of roofing measurement reports with computer-aided-design drafting technicians; we record the data points. As pioneers in this measurement business, we have measured millions of structures with hundreds of millions of data points. We have always sought ways to improve our reports' functionality and improve our customers' experience.
For example, we determined that specific AI can help with additional insights on properties. So we developed our property insight report, ProData. Our ProData report shows code data for the property, including current tax rates, building municipality contact information, historic weather data, historic permit data, home values and equity, sales history, current mortgage data, financing analysis, and neighborhood data for marketing scoring.
Last year, we completed a restructuring of our proprietary platform. We did our best not to disrupt our delivery system; thankfully, we have the best, terrifically tolerant clients. Now we perform faster and more accurately with more and more properties every day. Our clients can get our new ProData reports and productively leverage that data in their workflows.
Scope is working toward full vertical integration with our proprietary software suite to create a remote measurement report, quote, presentation, and material purchase order - delivering it all within three hours. SmartQuote & SmartPO are underway. Our new motto, Better Data Bigger Profits®, will be more evident in your experience shortly. We're looking forward to sharing it with you. These efforts do not and will not replace our valued partners, we integrate and wholeheartedly support; these special third-party partners provide invaluable tools that empower decisions and workflows and help our customers compete and win more projects. Our data will generally integrate into our partners' ecosystem early in the marketing phase of our clients' workflow.
Things are happening in the industry! Important things. Can you say QXO!?! While the industry continues to consolidate, the entire ecosystem is starting to mesh, and it feels awesome. ABC Supply Co., Inc. is an amazing company that consistently puts its customers first. ABC Supply was the first to offer open APIs. As others follow suit and as we all continue to partner and drive innovation, our customers (and their customers) will reap the benefits in better service, quality, and profits.
Property taxes, P&C insurance, utilities, and interest rates, to say nothing about the increase in the cost of living, have us all a little skittish, but I see light at the end of the tunnel as we work together with new processes, technologies, and materials to cost-effectively protect our homes. Also, all of us have been feeling the pain of continuing material price increases, but for all of you who have been in the industry for some time, we knew it was inevitable. However, these materials protect the consumer's most significant asset, their home. I believe we will see interest rates drop so the average homeowner can make better investment decisions for superior products and workmanship.
Ultimately, we are grateful for the many years of support from the best clients in the roofing and exterior specialty contractors industry (some have been with us since our beginnings). We have been blessed to work with the top distributors, and we owe them immeasurable Gratitude for working productively with us for all these years - ditto for so many manufacturers.
This year will be epic: as always, Scope Technologies will be working tirelessly, serving the best industry in the World, one client at a time. We are just getting started!
